Material and Application
The silkspan medium is the best alternative to Heat Shrink Covering for Balsa Fully Sheeted Parts, e.g Wings and Fuselages. Its good because you could turn balsa model to composite with less weight compared to Fibre Glass Coated Surface. At the same time you don't sunlight sagging issues that is typical of Heat Shrink Plastic Cover. It's easy to apply even on curves. This material is also the best surface reinforcement materials for Foam Type Models (eps & EPO). The best way to use this material is in conjunction with Nitrate & butyrate Dope. Where the later can be used to Fuel and Paint Proof the Surfaces.

Tissue- medium silkspan
I'm very impressed with this tissue, its easy to apply & has a smooth side and a rough side. My normal technique is to use Titebond adhesive and quickly pull the tissue tight using two fingers pulling the tissue in opposite directions (the Titebond allows approx. 30 seconds working time which is sufficient).

Tissue - Silkspan
First time using tissue but it was very easy to apply and as other reviews have mentioned, you get that old timer style appearance. Very happy with my first purchase from www.wightsmodelaircraft.com.au

New Plane, Real World feel
Use Silk Span to create an Old World feel. Im using it on a 1200mm wing Spitfire, Electric. Beats a plastic wing look any day. I use Water based paints (Aerosol can) to complete the job.

Perfect covering material for Scale Planes
this silkspan material is perfect for covering balsa model airplane. Coated with QCells mix with Dope or FibreGlass Resin gives a strong light weight shell for model aircraft wings.
